Saffron Isle Plumbing & Drainage
Licensed plumbing on the isle

Water where you want it, nowhere else.

Saffron Isle Plumber is a small, fully licensed crew handling emergency repairs, hot water, blocked drains and bathroom fit-outs for homes and small shopfronts across the isle. One team, one quote, no surprises at the end.

Emergency callouts prioritised · Fixed price agreed before we start

  • Licensed & insured

Every job is carried out by a licensed plumber and gasfitter, with full public liability cover.

  • Price before spanners

We diagnose first, then give you a fixed figure. Nothing is touched until you say go ahead.

  • We leave it tidy

Drop sheets down, offcuts out, floors wiped. You should not be able to tell we were there.

  • Real booking windows

A two-hour arrival window rather than a vague day, and a message if anything shifts.

What we fix

Six things we are called out for most

If your job is not listed, describe it in the booking form — most plumbing problems on the isle land in one of these buckets anyway.

Burst pipes & emergency leaks

Water off, damage contained, pipework repaired or replaced in copper or PEX the same visit where we can.

Hot water systems

Lukewarm showers diagnosed, elements and valves replaced, and full swap-outs for electric, gas or heat pump units.

Blocked drains

Jetting and camera inspection for sinks, showers and sewer lines, plus a plain explanation of what caused it.

Leak detection

Rising bills or a damp wall with no obvious source? We trace it acoustically before anyone opens up a floor.

Bathroom & kitchen fit-outs

Rough-in through to tapware, waterproofing coordination and a finish schedule you can hand to your tiler.

Maintenance visits

A yearly once-over for landlords and shopfronts: tap washers, traps, gutters, isolation valves and hot water safety.

How a call-out works

Three steps, and you know the price at step two

Tell us what is happening

Send the booking form with a sentence or two about the problem. We reply with the next two arrival windows that suit.

We diagnose and quote

We find the actual cause on site, explain it without jargon, and put a fixed figure in front of you before any work begins.

Fixed, tested, tidied

The repair is completed, pressure tested in front of you, and the site is cleaned down. Parts and labour are covered in writing.

About the crew

A small island team that answers its own messages

Saffron Isle Plumber started as one van and a workbench in a shed near the north jetty. It is still deliberately small: the plumber who quotes your job is the plumber who does it, and the person reading your enquiry is one of them.

Working on an isle teaches you to carry the right parts the first time. Our vans stock the fittings, valves and hot water spares that island homes actually use, so most repairs finish in one visit instead of waiting on a ferry.

If we cannot fix it, we will tell you straight, and there is no charge for the diagnosis.

Fit-outs planned around the trades that follow you

A bathroom goes wrong when the plumbing is sequenced badly, not when the tiles are chosen badly. We set out waste and water positions against your actual fixtures, then book the rough-in so your waterproofer and tiler are not left waiting.

You get a written fixture schedule, a set-out photo before anything is closed in, and a single point of contact for the whole run of the job.

Before you book

Questions we get asked every week

What counts as an emergency?

Anything actively causing damage or making a home unusable: a burst pipe, water coming through a ceiling, a blocked sewer backing up, or no water at all. Mark the booking form as urgent and it moves to the front of the day's run.

How is the price worked out?

We quote per job, not per hour, so a tricky repair does not quietly become an expensive one. The figure covers labour, standard parts and disposal, and it is agreed in writing before work starts.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. Our workmanship is covered in writing on every invoice, and manufacturer warranties on hot water units and tapware are registered in your name, not ours.

Can I book for a rental I manage?

Certainly. Put your details in the form and your tenant's district in the notes. We arrange access directly with the tenant, then send the report and invoice to you.

What should I do while I wait?

For a leak, turn off the isolation valve under the fixture or the main stop tap, and move anything valuable clear of the water. For a blocked drain, stop running taps into it. Everything else can wait for us.

Book a visit

Tell us what is leaking, blocking or refusing to heat

Send the form and one of the crew reads it — not a call centre. The more detail you give, the better the arrival window we can offer.

  • A reply with two arrival windows to choose from.
  • A diagnosis on site before any price is quoted.
  • No charge if we decide the job is not ours to do.

We use your details only to answer this enquiry and arrange the visit.
